Where We Work

DRIVING CIVILIAN PROTECTION

FROM THE GROUND UP

CIVIC works across conflict settings and global policy spaces to strengthen the protection of civilians, address civilian harm, and advance practical solutions grounded in the realities civilians face.

Recognizing that effective civilian protection requires both local engagement and international influence, CIVIC combines field-based programming with sustained advocacy and humanitarian diplomacy to shape policy and practice at the national, regional, and global levels.

With a presence in strategic diplomatic hubs—including Brussels, Addis Ababa, Amman, Nairobi, Doha, Geneva, London, Washington, DC, and New York—CIVIC engages governments and multilateral institutions such as the United Nations, African Union, European Union, NATO, and the Gulf Cooperation Council.

At the same time, CIVIC continues to expand and strengthen its field presence in conflict-affected environments where civilians face evolving protection risks. Through direct engagement with communities, civil society organizations, governments, and armed actors, we develop practical approaches to help prevent, mitigate, and respond to civilian harm.

Today, CIVIC works across Africa, Europe, and the Middle East while continuing to deepen partnerships and engagement with national, regional, and international actors to strengthen civilian protection worldwide.
