Joanne La Terriere joined CIVIC as the Ukraine Country Director in 2025. With ten years of experience in the humanitarian and development sectors, her career has focused on protection, humanitarian demining and armed violence reduction across West Africa, Laos, Azerbaijan and Ukraine.

Joanne leads a team of Protection experts who work closely with communities across seven frontline oblasts, and works with security and defence forces to increase the protection of civilians in conflict.

Joanne has a Master’s degree in Peace and Conflict Studies from Manchester University and has conducted research on humanitarian demining in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
