Meet Marion Russ, Institutional Partnerships Manager

Marion Russ is CIVIC’s Institutional Partnerships Manager, leading institutional partnership development with governments and multilateral donors to drive strategic engagement and funding growth.
She manages complex capture planning, proposal development, and grant negotiations from opportunity identification through award, while strengthening CIVIC’s Brussels stakeholder network and coordinating cross-regional collaboration with program teams in conflict-affected contexts. Marion provides donor intelligence, internal capacity building, and strategic guidance across the organization’s business development efforts, covering CIVIC’s full portfolio with a particular focus on Kenya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, Ukraine, and Yemen.
Marion brings over ten years of experience in fundraising, business development, and institutional partnerships across the humanitarian and peacebuilding sectors. Before joining CIVIC, she served as Business Development Manager for Africa at an international peacebuilding NGO. She holds a Master’s degree in Social Economy/NGO Management and a Bachelor’s degree in Cultural Anthropology.
Originally from Austria and based in Brussels, Marion has also worked from Kenya and Jordan.
